Rose Color Meanings

Rose Color Meanings

Giving roses as gifts are a Valentine’s Day tradition.

Here is a list of some of the meanings of rose colors.

RED       True love, Passion, Love, Respect, Romance, Congratulations

Red roses are very traditional. They represent love and passion.  They are a very eloquent gift of congratulations.  A single red rose means ‘I love you’ or a person has very strong feeling for another. They communicate everlasting love.
Give a Red Rose to show true love, passion or the highest congratulations.

BLUE
     Mystery, Impossible, Unattainable

Blue Roses are not naturally found therefore they represent the imaginary or fantasy.  Blue is the color of the sky and water.  Reach for the sky for an impossible relationship or the depths of the ocean with a vastly deep one. Much thought goes into a blue rose.
Give a Blue Rose to a seemingly unattainable or complex crush.

WHITE   Eternal love, Innocence, Virtue, Purity, Worthiness, Happy Love

White Roses represent innocence and purity, like an angel.  Brides carry white roses to express their worthiness of pure heart and everlasting love. White represents the innocence of a new relationship.
Give a White Rose to show appreciation of pure intentions.

YELLOW   Friendship, Apology, Caring, Happness

Yellow expresses happiness and joy. A new start – therefore great for an apology.  Shows friendship and makes a nice ‘thank you’ flower.  Coveys warmth, joy and frienship.
Give a Yellow Rose to express friendship or to celebrate a happy new event.

PINK      Gratitude, Gentleness, Youth, Sweetness, Romance

Pink blush of a young girl’s cheeks, the softness of the rose petal itself is how we perceive the pink rose.  Pink is a romantic color with less intensity than red. A sweet and gentle love.  A pink rose is also a graceful way of saying ‘thank you’.
Give a Pink Rose to convey a message of a sweet or romantic love.

PURPLE   Love at First Sight, Enchantment, Magical, beautiful

The purple rose represents love at first sight. The giver of this rose has fallen quickly in love and is very enchanted with this new person.   The feelings are very magical. Purple roses include the color lavender. Also, to show a person you think they are beautiful.
Give a Purple Rose to express that you believe in love at first sight.

BLACK     Death, Farewell, Rejuvenation or Regrowth

The color black is sometimes misunderstood. Black roses are associated with death. Death does not always mean the physical death of a being. Mos of the time it means the end of something.  At the end of the night there is always a bright new dawn.
Give a Black Rose to symbolize the ending of something.

ORANGE     Desire, Fascination, Enthusiasm

Orange is a mixture between the yellow friendship and passion of red. Orange roses express the enthusiasm and fascination of a new, blooming relationship. Desire to take the warmth of orange to the next level of red hot fire.
Give an Orange Rose to show your fascination and desire about the relationship.

Why are Rainbows Colored?

Why are Rainbows Colored?

Why are rainbows colored?

How is a rainbow formed?

The mechanics of rainbows have been studied since ancient times. The Greek philosophers were aware of the role of reflection in forming a rainbow, and had some understanding of the role of refraction. In the 13th century, scientists produced theories on rainbow formation, and in the 17th century, Rene Descartes sketched out the conditions required to observe a rainbow.

We see rainbows because of the geometry of raindrops. When the sun shines from behind us into the rain, incident rays of light enter the drop and are refracted inwards. They are reflected from the back surface of the raindrop, and refracted again as they exit the raindrop and return to our eyes. Refraction is responsible for splitting the sunlight into its component colors.

Color Meditation

Color Meditation:

Begin by getting comfortable and doing breathing exercises or whatever you do to clear your mind and calm yourself.

Breathe in and fill yourself with each breath with a specific color of the spectrum, visualizing it as brighter and brighter each time (not lighter; by brighter, I mean more intense)

Fill your mind with these colors as you breathe:
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo (bluish-purple) and violet.

Go through these colors at whatever pace feels comfortable to you.

Play relaxing music to let you mind float into color meditation.

Color Feng Shui in your House

The feng shui compass breaks a room down into eight areas:
N-NE-E-SE-S-SW-W-NW

N – Business Success

NE – Knowledge

E – Family, health,

SE – Wealth

S – Fame, Fortune

SW -  Love, Marriage

W – Children

NW – Helpful Supportive People

COLORS

Turquoise or Aqua – use in NE to enhance knowledge and wisdom.  Use in E to promote family harmony, health and vitality.

Brown – use brown, beige or tan to represent youth, prosperity, family, harmony, nutrition, strength, growth and vitality.

Blue – use (especially ultramarine) in N to attract business success. Use in E to enhance family, harmony and health.  Do not use blue in SW or NE.

Black –  use in N to enhance business success, career and new beginnings.  Do not combine it with yellow or use it in SW or NE.   Do not use black in bedrooms or on the walls or ceilings or any room.

Gold Metallic – use metallic gold in the W to enhance children’s fame, creativity, success, travel, and interests outside the home. Do not use metallic gold in bedrooms.  It will destroy health and harmony.  Do not use in E or SE.

Gold Nonmetallic – Use nonmetallic gold in NE to enhance wisdom, knowledge and scholarly success. Use in SW to enhance marriage, motherhood, love and relationships.  Do not use in the N which represents business and career success.

Green – use in S for protection from evil.  Do not use green in SW or NE. Put green items in SE of the living room for prospetity.

Gray – use in NW, N and W to enhance supportive people, benefactors, mentors, international trade, trips, travel and interests outside the home. Do not use in E or SE.

Orange – use in SW to promote motherhood, romance, love, relationships and marriage. Do not use orange in N.

Peach – Use peach if you are a single woman seeking a good husband.  Use peach in abundance in your unmarried daughter’s bedroom so she will marry well. Pictures of peonies or pictures with peach color should be placed outside the bedroom.  Do not use peach in your bedroom if you are already married. This color will activate your partner;s roving eye or heart causing infidelity.

Pink – use in S and SW areas of a single woman’s bedroom to powerfully represent romance, love and marrage.

Purple – use in E for harmony, prosperity, family and health. Use in SE to promote wealth and prospetity. In Feng shui purple represents knowledge, wisdom, intelligence wealth, and spirituality.  Put purple chrysanthemums in SE for wealth and prosperity.

Red – use in any form in S.  Use for newlyweds, brides, birthdays, and baby blankets.  Use red hearts and silk flowers in the SW, the area of love and romance.  Red protects from bad luck and evil. It represents fame, fortune, joy, festivity, longevity, summer, and passion. Tie two red cords or ribbons inside your bedroom on the doorknob if you would like to attract a serious partner. Too much red in a bedroom will disturb rest.  If your front entrance faces S, plant red flowers in the ground or in pots on both sides.  This provides protection to your family.

Yellow – use on SW wall of your bedroom to symbolize motherhood. Use yellow objects in SW to activate love, romance, relationships and marrage.

White – use on W and NW walls of your bedroom to symbolize fatherhood.
